From points east, take the 210 Freeway to the Foothill exit. 1/8 of trail was closed off by gate. We are nestled in the scenic foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. short hillside climb with a few stairs and minor switchbacks. I give this place 5 stars!I love taking a good book and just relaxing at this park.
There's lots of parking here for a Nice walk up to Horsethief or just drive up to HT's parking lot. Nice quick little incline loop. Some parts of the trail is pretty narrow, so this place isn’t stroller or toddler friendly.On March 17th I completed this hike with my husband and our friend, Alex. The dog park is great and you meet some great people and awesome furry friendsThis one is a plus for me because I have two parks in one visit here. Surrounded by the best golf courses with exceptional panoramic views. There is a big shaded area for lunch. They have a play ground near the dog park and one near the nature center.

I would suggest calling San Dimas Parks & Rec to see if they have reserved the area for any organizations like AYSO.Not sure why anyone gives this 4 stars or less. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking and horseback riding. Dogs. There is a huge table area that is covered and great for parties. There is a dog park next door and sometime careless owners let their pet off leash because...."they are good". and go 0.4 miles to San Dimas Canyon Road. The 2 reasons why this park did not get 5 stars is because you cannot reserve the picnic areas, its first come, first serve. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. If you are planning a party or some other planned event. Or when I have my grandson he absolutely LOVES it here and its not over crowded.
