Haven’t seen them since.DE works great and I usually dint need to wait 24 hours to see results….Ha ants in the kitchen here recently, dropped a solution of DE where they where entering and they were gone within the hour.DE is diatomaceous earth – food grade.
You can find it in feed stores, or other places I don’t know about.
Just a few stragglers now. Diatomaceous earth (make sure u ONLY get food grade & wear a face mask, don’t inhale…at least it’s non toxic & cheap…worked for awhile when piled on the mound nests in the yard- about a week or so – at first. There’s a bunch of ants in my daughters room and she has. The ants are all telling their friends right now to come and get it. You can also make homemade ant poison from a mixture of borax, sugar, and water.

Not sure if that’s just certain species or not.The nest makes a bunch of “queens” (actually male and female flying ants) every year to colonize new ground, they fly off and mate, then the female loses her wings, digs a hole and starts a new nest. The baking soda creates a gas that ants cannot get rid of so they blow up instead! Ants that roam around ant hills don’t bother us; in fact, ants don’t bother us until they’ve entered our house.We understand how desperate you are to get rid of the ants once they enter. I replace them every couple of weeks or so.Please don’t use the borax nor pesticides .
