The one in Sriharikota (Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh) is in Satish Dhawan Space Center and is called Sriharikota High Altitude Range (SHAR). These APSRTC buses start from Srikarikota around 6 am for carrying the passengers who had come to witness the rocket-launch. You will need a very good camera and excellent zoom to capture a photo if you intend to do so.For those who are near Sriharikota, this is a spectacle to watch. It is possible to get a pass to go inside SHAR to watch the launch from inside, but it requires one to know someone working inside ISRO. I want to take them to visit SHAR, Sriharikota during november, 2019. You either need to have some SHAR staff take you inside, or you can register to go when there is a rocket launch. Is there any entry fees that we need to pay for the students ?There are no charges to be paid to ISRO/SHAR for school visits.
There is only 1 road that leads to SHAR and locating it will not be an issue (use Google Maps if you need directions). It may not be possible to hire a car in the last moment though; because most of the cars are booked by ISRO guests. The precise window (date & time) for any launch is announced by ISRO usually about 7-10 days in advance. If you are a student, you need to go through the principal. If you want to visit SDSC, contact their PR section and ask how you can obtain the permission.
