PETALING JAYA: YTL Corp Bhd’s executive chairman Tan Sri Francis Yeoh (pic) has been conferred the award of honorary Knight of the British Empire by the United Kingdom’s (UK) Queen Elizabeth II that carries the title “Sir”.According to an internal company circular, the title was bestowed on Yeoh recently for helping to improve the UK-Malaysian bilateral relations.Prince Charles performed the ceremony at the Clarence House on Oct 13 last year, it said.Yeoh said he felt humbled and honoured by the award. Sustainable business is a core reason as to why the Award Committee chose Sir Yeoh to be one of the recipients of the 2011 Oslo Business for Peace Award. This requires being ”businessworthy” – in an ethical and responsible way creating value both for business and society.
