In 2005 Madlib's compilation of unreleased Jaylib tracks got leaked as an early version of The 2007 re-issue of Champion Sound was abruptly delayed when Stones Throw was issued a cease-and-desist from the camp of artist This article is about the Jaylib album. Half of the songs are produced by Madlib and feature J Dilla on vocals, and the other half are produced by J Dilla and feature Madlib on vocals. The first pressings of the album in the USA contained two bonus tracks: "Raw Addict," and "Ice" (which otherwise are only on a white label 12" issued by Stones Throw); the first pressing of the CD in Europe included those two and a third track, "Pillz," which was later featured as the b-side to the single for "McNasty Filth". Quite hard to find since the re-issued version of Champion Sound had to change those for legal reasons.

No graphics on the tape, just a mock spraypaint effect of the album title. So is this release the one the original ‘the red’ or not? New version just doesn’t do it justice! The quality of the case, liner and tape are all very nice. ;) The packaging itself is minimal, and it works. Complete your Jaylib collection. I had never heard the new version of The Red until reading these comments. Luckily I have the original CD release.

This version of the release was pressed on thinner vinyl and each disc weighs about 10-grams less than that of the reissue, Jaylib - Champion Sound. No overwhelming hissing and the bass notes hit particularily well.
Sample clearance problem? I haven't heard the vinyl edition, but I would imagine that this is just as good, and a cheaper alternative if you want to have an analog copy.
